Colin’s area of practice is criminal defense, civil protection orders, criminal investigations, Title IX cases, and select civil defense cases. Prior to working at Rachel A. Michael LLC, Colin spent approximately two years in the Colorado State Public Defender system. As a Public Defender represented thousands of clients in numerous types of cases and spent untold hours in the court room.
Colin is a graduate of the nationally ranked University of Texas School of Law. Colin was active in the criminal defense clinics, trial advocacy, community service organizations, and legal journals. While at Texas Law Colin was awarded the Dean’s Award for Advanced Trial Advocacy as well as traveling for multiple different advocacy events.
Prior to entering law school Colin was a professional musician and teacher. These past experiences play an essential role in Colin’s style of advocacy. While he is well versed in the academic side of the law, he always approaches things from the practical. Having spent part of his adult life as something other than an attorney gives Colin a perspective into how the law can affect real people, with real problems. Colin is direct, yet compassionate. Colin is willing to go the extra-mile for his clients and is a firm believer in a client-centered practice.
